Worship at St. Paul’s‑in‑the‑Pines is a shared, participatory experience. Many hands and hearts contribute each week to make our services reverent, joyful, and welcoming. Below are the key roles within our worship ministries:
Eucharistic Minister: Assists the priest in administering Holy Communion during the service. May also lead prayers.
Lector: Proclaims the Word of God by reading the appointed Scripture lessons during worship.
Crucifer/Acolyte: Carries the processional cross and assists at the altar during the service, lights/extinguishes altar candles, rings the Sanctus bells
Altar Guild: Prepares the sanctuary and altar for worship, including setting up communion elements, linens, and sacred vessels. Cleans and restores items after each service.
Usher: Greets and assists parishioners and visitors, distributes bulletins, helps with seating, collects the offering, and guides the flow during Communion.
Teller: Assists with counting and recording the offering after each service, helping to ensure faithful and accurate stewardship.
Each of these ministries offers a unique way to serve and connect more deeply with our worship life. Training is available, and we welcome new volunteers with open arms.
We believe that serving our neighbors is central to following Jesus. Here are just a few of the ways you can help make a difference:
School Supply Drive: We collect notebooks, pencils, backpacks, and other school essentials to support local children as they begin a new school year.
Food Collection for Fayetteville Urban Ministry: Throughout the year, we gather non‑perishable food items to assist families in need through Fayetteville Urban Ministry.
Other Parish‑Led Outreach: From seasonal drives to special projects, St. Paul’s‑in‑the‑Pines seeks opportunities to extend Christ’s love beyond our walls.
